Crownfall: Heaven vs Hell: the guide

Aurel invades Hell. Veyr invades Heaven. Each ruler climbs thirteen floors, conquers thirty-nine stages and grows from exile to sovereign. The final stage is King of Heaven versus King of Hell: your chosen ruler challenges the opposing king in their strongest form.

Movement and combat

Move with WASD or arrow keys. On a phone, drag the left movement pad while your other thumb holds Slash at the far right. The stick supports gentle movement beyond its dead zone and faster movement toward its edge. You can also drag the arena to create a floating movement pad. J or Slash attacks the nearest enemy within your blade’s arc; Space dodges, K bursts, and L uses crown power when unlocked. Hold Slash to repeat attacks. Pause and focus loss clear held inputs. Red circles, rings and lanes mark danger; leave them before they light up. Hounds telegraph lunges while wisps fire spread volleys.

Break guards and manage Resolve

Sentinels and elite guards resist frontal attacks. Flank them or drain their blue guard meter to stagger them, interrupt an attack and create an opening for extra damage. Casters place rifts and heal nearby allies, so leaving them alive makes crowds harder. Slashes are free. Dodges cost 24 Resolve, bursts cost 32 and crown power costs 60. Resolve regenerates, but cooldowns and a shared resource stop you from spending every power at once.

Thirteen floors and thirteen forms

Each floor has three stages, its own obstacle layout, floor markings and timed hazards. Most stages have two waves. Gatekeepers guard the third stage of floors 3, 6, 9 and 12 with three waves. Conquering a floor unlocks the next form and awards one permanent boon. Form 3 unlocks a burst, Form 5 extends the slash, Form 7 unlocks crown power, Form 9 adds a familiar, and Form 11 adds an echo pulse. Form 13 belongs to the final floor. Battle score records victories; it cannot be farmed to skip forms.

Health, routes and checkpoints

Health carries between the three stages of a floor. Clearing a stage restores 16% of maximum health; choosing a floor boon restores it fully. At a rift, the Citadel road adds 12% enemy health; the Shadow passage keeps standard guards and all their attack patterns. Defeat restarts the current floor at stage one, keeping earlier floors and their boons. Unfinished battles restart from their entry health when reloaded. Pause before taking a break. Aurel and Veyr save separately on this browser.

The final king duel

Floor 13 ends at the throne of the opposing realm. Aurel faces Veyr, King of Hell; Veyr faces Aurel, King of Heaven. The king has three health-gated phases. Volleys, lunges and rifts give way to novas, crossing judgement lanes and summoned guards. Phase transitions briefly protect the king and restore a little Resolve. Watch the boss bar and attack warning, preserve your dodge, and use the openings between attacks. Defeating the king completes all thirty-nine stages.
